Born November 17th, 1953 to the late Raymond Howell Brawner and Dorothy Mae Cooper, Tony Brawner passed away the morning of November 4th, 2023. Tony was preceded in death by his wife Jane, his daughter Amy, and his sister Gail. Tony is survived by his son: Ray (Tiffany) Brawner; siblings: Bear (Nancy) Brawner, Brenda (Randy)Fox, Jenny (Bob Notesteine) Moore, David (Karan) Brawner, and Jerry Brawner (Lori Green); grandchildren: Amy Carson Brawner, Jancin Brawner, and Isaac Brawner; sister-in-law: Joyce (Wayne) Dugger; brother-in-law: Webb (Lori) Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is also survived by special friends, Jordyn and Justin Wilson.
Tony was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend. He extended his love and support as a father and grandfather figure to countless people in his life. The love he gave was constant and generous, giving even if he had nothing to give and serving as a mentor to many who had the privilege of meeting him.
Throughout his life, Tony dedicated so much of it to serving others and his relationship with Mountain T.O.P. as an organization. He was a huge advocate for all of our programs and was able to make lifelong connections with children in the community and homeowners that he encountered. Coming each camp week, he would pass out stickers as a memorial to his daughter who passed away before she was able to attend along with pennies that had crosses carved out of them. When Tony would visit camp, he spent hours with campers and staff sharing laughs, stories, and advice. Along with being a friend to the ministry, Tony also served as a member of the board of directors.

As such, the family asks that, in place of flowers, for anyone so inclined, donations may be made to Mountain T.O.P., a Christian service ministry in the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee. Mountain T.O.P.’s mission is to alleviate substandard housing through service projects, Christian ministry, and faith-based relationships. Tony was a big supporter of this organization in life, and Mountain T.O.P. is helping us set up a legacy fund in Tony's name to allow his dedication to live on.
